Max Verstappen topped the timesheet in the third and final practice session for the French Grand Prix, 0.354 seconds ahead of Carlos Sainz.
On another hot day in France, Verstappen pulled one back against Ferrari after Charles Leclerc and then Carlos Sainz clinched the double for the Scuderia on Friday.
The Red Bull driver made a late swap to the soft Pirellis, purple in the first two sectors on his way to a 1:32.272.
Sainz, set for a back-of-the-grid start due to engine penalties, was second with Leclerc third. The latter was over six-tenths down on Verstappen’s best.
Lewis Hamilton was next in line, half a tenth up on Sergio Perez who in turn was just over half a tenth faster than George Russell.
Fernando Alonso, Alex Albon, Lando Norris and Yuki Tsunoda made up the top ten, the latter 1.479s off the P1 time.
