Crowdstrike Racing with Riley Motorsports’ George Kurtz scored his eighth GT America Powered by AWS victory of 2022 Sunday morning (Sept. 25) at Sebring International Raceway.  The 2022 SRO3 champ claimed his third weekend sweep of the year.

“We had the lead for a while, and traffic giveth and traffic taketh away,” Kurtz told SRO America’s Amanda Busick after the race.  “I got held and [Harward] really handled the traffic well and pulled out a good gap.  From there, we cranked in some good laps, put the pressure on, [got back by] and held on for the win.”

By virtue of turning in the fastest lap of the race Saturday, Kurtz started from the overall pole and had to fight Zelus Motorsports’ Jason Harward and TR3 Racing’s Jeff Burton for the lead in turn 1.  Like Race No. 1 on Saturday, Harward was able to keep pace early on.  Unlike Saturday, there were no electrical issues that cost Harward pace.

Harward put a significant amount of pressure on Kurtz for the overall lead.  Kurtz had to drive very defensively in order to hold back the Lamborghini.  Ultimately, the leaders got into the slower GT4 traffic and Harward was able to make his move just before halfway entering turn 1 to take the advantage.

Once in the lead, Harward pulled out a lead of a couple of seconds.  However, Kurtz picked up the pace and began to run the multi-colored Huracan back down.

It was a unenforced error that decided the race.  With nine minutes to go, Harward went wide in Sunset Bend.  That allowed Kurtz to get a run and re-pass Harward to get back in the lead.  Once out front, Kurtz pulled away to take the win.

Kurtz’s margin of victory was 15.219 seconds over Harward.  Mirco Schultis was third in his Callaway Corvette, then Burton and Jason Daskalos.

In GT4, Flying Lizard Motorsports’ Elias Sabo started from the pole, but really didn’t get the best of the starts.  As a result, it was nothing less than a scramble for position on the run to turn 1.  Despite the scramble, Sabo was able to hold onto the early lead over GMG Racing’s Jason Bell.  Bell was hit in the middle of that scramble and would intermittently have whispers of smoke coming off of his Aston Martin for most of the race due to a tire rub.

Behind the two leaders, Saturday winner Moisey Uretsky fought for nearly the entire race for third with Premier Racing’s Adam Adelson.  Uretsky had the spot early on, but Adelson was able to get past just after halfway.

At the front, Sabo…
