Haltech Set To Launch Nexus R3 Vehicle Control Unit

On March 22, Haltech will officially launch to the pubic its new Nexus R3 vehicle control unit, a feature-rich addition to its Nexus lineup, through all authorized Haltech dealers and the Haltech online store. The unit will sell for $2,395.

The Nexus R3 is an ECU, a Power Distribution Module, and a Wideband controller all in one, with the same feature set as the top-of-the-line R5, but with a smaller footprint and a more aggressive price point. The R3 sports data logging capabilities, a high speed wi-fi communications module, and a new-generation engine management system, all natively interconnected with each other, and all programmable with one single piece of software.

The R3 is designed for engine swaps, EFI conversions, and race car applications, in vehicles with any engines up to 8 cylinders or four rotors, with drive-by-wire and/or multiple variable camshafts.

“If you’ve been looking at the Nexus R5 thinking that it might be a bit of an overkill for your build – the new Nexus R3 might be just what you’re looking for,” the company says. “Much like its bigger brother, the new Nexus R3 combines the functionality of a power distribution module, a data logger, a wideband controller and a state-of-the art engine management system in one compact yet powerful device. With a small footprint and sharing a lot of powerful tuning features with the R5, the new R3 provides an integrated vehicle control solution to racers, tuners, engine builders and performance enthusiasts alike.”
