Alexander Rossi and Christian Rasmussen will make up the driver lineup for Ed Carpenter Racing in the NTT IndyCar Series for 2025, the team announced Sept. 25.

“It is an exciting day to not only welcome Alex to the team, but to extend our relationship with Christian,” team owner Ed Carpenter said in a team release. “We are very excited about our lineup and other partnership announcements that will be forthcoming.”

After two seasons with Arrow McLaren, Rossi will drive the No. 20 Chevy in what will be his 10th year in the series. Rossi finished 10th in the 2024 standings with a podium finish at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

“I’m honored that Ed and the entire ECR ownership group recognize the value I can bring to the team,” Rossi said. “Their commitment to excellence, along with the power of Chevrolet and the ambitious plans they have for the future made this opportunity impossible to pass up. I’m eager to get started and contribute to the team’s continued success.”

Rasmussen is set to run full time in the No. 21, replacing Rinus VeeKay after starting 14 races in his rookie season. Rasmussen won the 2023 Indy Lights championship with HMD Motorsports. His best finish in 2024 was ninth at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

“I’m incredibly excited to earn a full-time role with Ed Carpenter Racing,” Rasmussen said. “My rookie year in INDYCAR was full of firsts, and I can’t wait to bring everything I’ve learned into my second season. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity and looking forward to team up with Alexander to push the team forward and fight towards the front of the grid more consistently.”

The team also announced that Carpenter is expected to return at the Indianapolis 500 in a third entry for the team.
