2023 Formula 1 Schedule Released

The 2023 Formula 1 schedule has been revealed and features a record-breaking 24 events for next year’s season.

Among the biggest changes is the already announced Las Vegas Grand Prix and also includes the reintroduction of both the Chinese and Qatar Grand Prix.

Next year will be the first time the F1 grid has returned to Shanghai since 2019 and first time in Qatar since 2021.

Additionally, the French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard has been taken off the calendar. It is the first time the circuit has not been featured on the original racing schedule since 2017.

The 2023 F1 calendar has also been modified to avoid any scheduling conflicts with next year’s running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans to allow drivers to compete in the prestigious endurance race.

“The presence of 24 races on the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar is further evidence of the growth and appeal of the sport on a global scale, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said in a release announcing the schedule. “The addition of new venues and the retention of traditional events underlines the FIA’s sound stewardship of the sport. I am delighted that we will be able to take Formula 1’s new era of exciting racing, created by the FIA’s 2022 regulations, to a broader fan base in 2023. In framing the 2023 F1 calendar, WMSC members have also been mindful of the timing of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
