Porsche’s pole winner Wehrlein held off Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara on the charge to Turn 1 and led until the opening round of Attack Mode energy boosts.
Points leader Mortara jumped ahead of an energy-saving Wehrlein at the start of Lap 7, while behind them the DS Techeetahs of Jean-Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix da Costa passed the second Porsche of Lotterer.
Verge then passed Wehrlein for second, while da Costa hit Wehrlein when the latter took his second Attack Mode, damaging his car and dropping him to sixth.
Werhlein and Lotterer were biding their time, however, and surged back to second and third places, demoting Vergne to fourth.
With more energy at their disposal, Werhlein and Lotterer picked off Mortara to run 1-2. It was all action behind, with Vergne grabbing third ahead of da Costa. Mortara finished fifth to retain his points lead.
