The Las Vegas Grand Prix is back to Formula 1 after a 40-year absence, becoming the third race to be staged on U.S. soil next season; the series announced on Thursday.
The Formula One World Championship has set its return to Las Vegas, Nevada, to November 2023 as part of the Formula 1 calendar, joining two other American cities, Miami and Austin.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali commented at an event staged in Las Vegas on Wednesday night: “This is an incredible moment for Formula 1 that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the U.S.”
Adding: “Las Vegas is a destination known around the world for its excitement, hospitality, thrills, and of course, the famous Strip.
“There is no better place for Formula 1 to race than in the global entertainment capital of the world, and we cannot wait to be here next year.”
