How an LS Engine Turned a Broken 911 Into a True Budget Supercar | Articles

When you add up all the advantages of owning a modern Porsche, there’s really no disputing it: These cars are some of the coolest and finest pieces of automotive engineering that could ever grace your driveway. There’s just one minor problem: cost. 

That single item prevents many people from becoming owners. A new Porsche 911, especially one of the hotter models, can be an expensive date. 

Take the brand’s GT3 RS 4.0, for example. The 4.0-liter, flat-six engine produces 500 horsepower. Porsche claims a top speed of 193 mph and a zero-to-60 time of 3.8 seconds. The price is an equally jaw-dropping $185,000.
