BJ McLeod’s Live Fast Team Penalized For Detached Wheel

BJ McLeod’s No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports team has been penalized by NASCAR for a detached wheel, NASCAR officials said Wednesday, April 27.

During the running of the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway this past Sunday, driver and co-owner of Live Fast BJ McLeod spun in turn 2, prompting a yellow flag to come out. As the car ran down the banking, the right rear wheel came off and rolled to a stop. McLeod finished 26th at Talladega.

As a result of the penalty, crew chief Lee Leslie along with jackman Alpha Lamin and rear-tire changer Kevin Teaf all will sit out the next four races.

Engineer Chris Stanley will take over as crew chief on the No. 78 for this weekend’s race at Dover Motor Speedway.
