Mark Webber said Red Bull have been “delivering” this season, despite having a couple of “wobbles” along the way so far.
Webber, nine times a race winner with Red Bull himself, said there had been a hint of frustration coming through at different times when things haven’t gone their way this year.
Max Verstappen has managed to reel in a 46-point deficit to Charles Leclerc at the top of the World Championship, now leading the standings himself after taking three race victories in a row, alongside another podium last time out in Monaco.
But that gap to Leclerc only came as a result of two retirements in the first three races of the season, with both Verstappen and Sergio Perez having to retire at the season opener in Bahrain through a fuel pressure fault in the car.
This was followed by a fuel leak for Verstappen in Australia too, but he showed the pace has always been within him and the RB18 – winning every race he had finished prior to Monaco, with Perez taking the win himself in the Principality last weekend – with Webber believing they’ve performed when it has been smooth sailing for them.

“They’ve had some wobbles though haven’t they at Red Bull, bit of reliability here and there,” the Australian said on Channel 4.
“He [Max] has had some interesting moments, [a] bit of frustration coming through, but when it counts, Red Bull are there, they’re delivering, getting the runs on the board.”
Perez signed a new two-year contract with Red Bull ahead of the weekend in Monaco, before going on to take his third career win.
