Kye Kelley Reveals Brand New LJRC-Built No-Prep "Shocker"

“Street Outlaws” star Kye Kelley revealed the finished product that is his new purpose-built “No Prep Kings” Chevrolet Camaro on Thursday evening, fresh out of the Larry Jeffers Race Cars shop in House Springs, Missouri. The car is a replacement of sorts to the original “Shocker,” and will likewise take over starting-lineup duties in place of the later-model Camaro, “Aftershock,” that he’s been campaigning with considerable success.

The black-on-black-on-black machine presumably sports power from the same Pat Musi-built 959 cubic-inch nitrous mill, which the tuning braintrust of Musi and Adam Drzayich make haul ass down the 660. We have to give particular kudos to Kye, who defied the overwhelming trend toward 1967-69 and 2010-22 Camaros around drag racing and helped sustain some variety by staying true to his third-gen identity.

The new “Shocker” rolled out of Jeffers’ shop at the most opportune of times, as the “No Prep Kings” circuit just wrapped the first half of its season last weekend and now has a much-needed seven-week hiatus. This will allow Kye and the Musi camp time to test and prepare for a run at the title against Ryan Martin and the rest of the top hitters in the series over the final seven races, which resumes in Tulsa August 12.
