The Audi TT is a nimble luxury coupe that’s built to hug the curves while providing an amazing driving experience. HST Turbo Tuning has taken what an Audi TT can do and moved it a few steps further with its record-setting ride. This 7-second Audi is making some insane all-wheel-drive horsepower.
HST’s Audi is a development car that uses a ton of really cool parts. The VR6 R32 engine that powers it uses a billet block as its base, and is the first one of its kind. The engine’s cylinder head is also a new piece that HST has been developing. An 88mm Pro Mod turbo from Garrett supplies all of boost the VR6 needs to make the 1,566 horsepower. The car has stopped the clocks in 7.36 seconds, and recorded a booming 191 mph speed at England’s Santa Pod Raceway, to become the world’s quickest all-wheel-drive Audi.
Trying to harness over 1,500 horsepower is a tricky task, even when you’re using all four tires. In this footage from VeeDubRacing, you can see just how much of a handful the Audi is to drive. The team at HST racing has set the car up to do a rear-wheel-only burnout to help keep the driveline happy. The howl the VR6 engine creates as it builds boost on the two-step is very unique and sounds amazing. HST has some big goals for this car that include some trips to the 7.20s and some 200 mph runs. The billet crank that HST plans on installing next should make those goals obtainable in the near future.
