Full Slate of Live Coverage of Fast Lap Qualifying and All Motos Showcased on MAVTV Motorsports Network and “MAVTV on FloRacing”
MORGANTOWN, WV – August 12, 2022 – (Motor Sports NewsWire) – The 50th Anniversary of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will begin its stretch run of the 2022 season this Saturday, August 13, from one of the sport’s most iconic venues. The sprawling, lush green hills of Unadilla MX will usher in the final four races of the summer, as the Parts Unlimited Unadilla National will serve as Round 9 of the title fight. Another full slate of live broadcast coverage will begin on Saturday morning with Fast Lap Qualifying on MAVTV Motorsports Network, in addition to live streaming on “MAVTV on FloRacing”, and will be followed by four consecutive hours of racing with two motos apiece for the 250 Class and 450 Class.
One of the sport’s most recognizable names will join the MAVTV team for Unadilla, as former Pro Motocross Champion and broadcast veteran Jeff Emig will serve as All-Star Analyst. A decorated racing career saw the Missouri native, affectionately known as “Fro,” capture a trio of AMA Motocross National Championships, first with a 125cc title in 1992 while riding for Yamaha, followed by back-to-back 250cc crowns during the 1996 and 1997 seasons with Kawasaki. Emig also sits in the top 10 of the all-time wins list for both the 125cc/250cc division (13) and 250cc/450cc division (16), with a combined 29 career overall victories. Upon his retirement from the sport in 1999, Emig eventually made the transition into announcing. The same relentless work ethic that made him a champion also helped him overcome a stutter to become one of the most recognizable and well-respected broadcast figures in the sport, where he excelled as an analyst for many years as part of both Monster Energy Supercross and Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship telecasts. Emig’s most recent turn in the broadcast booth came just last summer when he joined host and lead commentator Jason Weigandt for the final two rounds of the 2021 season.
