Daddy Dave's New LS Engine Is Going To Be A Beast

You can’t turn on the television or scroll the internet without seeing the Street Outlaws. Multiple spin-off shows keep the popular cast busy racing seemingly non-stop. “Daddy” Dave Comstock is a staple of the original show as well as regularly appearing and racing in the spin-off series. His 1963 Nova, nicknamed Goliath, is a fan favorite. For the new spin on the original 405 show, the guys are returning to their roots and building real street cars that they can cruise with their families and drive to the race spot. Watch as Daddy Dave reveals the car he’s chosen to build and talks about the new Thompson Motorsports LS engine that will power it.

When it comes to LS power, Daddy Dave is no stranger. His trusty daily driven S10 that he’s raced on the show sports a twin-turbo LS engine. So it’s no surprise he chose to run an LS in his Monte Carlo. Since Daddy Dave has experienced much success with ProCharger superchargers on his No Prep Kings race car. He’s sticking with ProCharger on this engine as well, which will definitely makes things rowdy. He doesn’t go into a lot of detail in the video about the specifics of the Thompson Motorsports LS. However, we do know that it is 388 cubic inches and features Frankenstein Engine Dynamics cylinder heads. With a Procharger on board, there should be no shortage of horsepower. Admittedly, Daddy Dave is a fan of multiple power adders. Might we see a little nitrous on this LS as well?

I don’t believe in single power adders . . . might as well use them all. – Daddy Dave Comstock

Daddy Dave’s LS is ready for final assembly. Meanwhile, another Procharged Thompson Motorsports LS is being tested on their engine dyno.

We look forward to seeing Daddy Dave’s Monte Carlo build come together. In the meantime, expect to see him cruising and racing his twin-turbo LS-powered S10 on the upcoming season of the OG Street Outlaws show. Several of the other cast members have also opted for LS and LT engines in their street cars. It will be great watching Street Outlaws and seeing all the LS/LT combinations battling it out.
