Part-time NTT IndyCar Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor Sage Karam will compete in at least half of the remaining eight Xfinity Series races in 2022 for Our Motorsports, Jayski reported Sunday (September 11). Karam will be behind the wheel of the No. 02 Chevrolet.
The Pennsylvania native will contest his first race for Our this Friday night (Sept. 16) at Bristol Motor Speedway before returning at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL (Oct. 8), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Oct. 15) and Homestead-Miami Speedway (Oct. 22).
Jayski also reported that Karam may also possibly drive the No. 02 in the penultimate race of the season at Martinsville Speedway (Oct. 29).
Our started the season with Brett Moffitt piloting the No. 02, but Moffitt left the team after 20 races. Blaine Perkins drove the No. 02 in three races as well as Brandon Brown and Ty Dillon have each driven it in one race. Currently, the No. 02 team is 19th in the owners’ point standings.
Karam will finish his stint with Alpha Prime Racing at Texas Motor Speedway on Sept. 24.
Karam has raced seven times in the Xfinity Series this season for Alpha Prime, splitting time between the Nos. 44 and 45. Karam earned both his and Alpha Prime’s first top-five finish in the series at Daytona International Speedway in August.
“I can’t believe I’m even talking to you guys for an interview after the race talking about pushing the leader to a win.”

Karam’s other 2022 highlight was running in the top 10 at Road America before a high-profile collision with Noah Gragson took him out of the race.
Overall, Karam has 11 Xfinity starts with the Daytona finish as his only both top five and top 10.
In addition to his exploits in stock car racing, Karam has raced in the Indianapolis 500 every year since 2014, finishing 23rd with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in the No. 24 Chevrolet earlier this year. He has one podium finish of third place in the 2015 event at Iowa Speedway.
