William Byron leads the pack in the NASCAR Xfinity race at Texas, NKP

It’s time for the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs, starting at the 1.5-mile track of Texas Motor Speedway.

Thirty-nine drivers will vie for 38 spots, so one car will not qualify for the race.

John Hunter Nemechek jumps in Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 for his 10th event of the year and third with JGR.

Parker Retzlaff attempts his first NXS start since June in Our Motorsports’ No. 02 car.

Matt Mills returns to the track after being out the last few weeks with the flu. He’ll attempt in the No. 5, while Garrett Smithley runs the No. 78 of BJ McLeod Motorsports.

The list states that Ryan Vargas is in the No. 6 of JD Motorsports; however, Brennan Poole will drive it, as Vargas announced he is out for Texas, Homestead-Miami Speedway and Phoenix Raceway. Poole was initially entered in the No. 47 of Mike Harmon Racing.

Jeffrey Earnhardt remains in the No. 26 of Sam Hunt Racing, attempting his 11th race of 2022.

Timmy Hill will try to make the race in MBM Motorsports’ No. 13 for his seventh event of the season.

Jesse Iwuji’s in his own No. 34.

Joey Gase is attempting to make his ninth start in Emerling-Gase Motorsports’ No. 35.

DGM Racing is once again fielding Josh Williams and Alex Labbe, who’ll drive Nos. 36 and 92, respectively.

CJ McLaughlin will attempt to qualify in the No. 38 of RSS Racing.

Tommy Joe Martins and Stefan Parsons will pilot Alpha Prime Racing’s Nos. 44 and 45, respectively.

Nick Sanchez makes his second-straight start in Big Machine Racing’s No. 48.

Brandon Brown returns to the No. 68.
