Upgrade Your 9-Inch Rearend With A Strange Aluminum Third Member

If you look under the majority of the race cars in the pit area at any drag race, there’s a good chance you’ll find a Ford-style 9-inch rearend between the slicks. This rearend is a staple in drag racing due to its strength, but this beefiness also adds weight to the car. Strange Engineering’s Aluminum Center Sections help reduce the weight without sacrificing strength.

There are several versions of the Strange Aluminum Center Section available, and each is made of a heat-treated 206-T4 aluminum material. The center sections are all shipped to customers assembled and ready to be installed. You can choose from a Strange Lightweight Aluminum Center Section, Ultra Center Section, HD Aluminum Center Section, or HD Pro Aluminum Center Section.

If you have an application that has minimal torsional loads, the Strange Lightweight Aluminum Center Section is for you; it comes with a Daytona pinion support, standard gear set, S-Series 1350 yoke, and more.

For those who need additional strength, the Strange Ultra Center Section is a solid choice; this center section is filled with billet parts and lots of built-in support designed to fight torsional flex.

An HD Aluminum Center Section is designed for racers who need upgrades like chrome-moly studs for their main caps, and larger pinon bearings to deal with brutal levels of acceleration. The HD Pro Aluminum Center Sections are sold as kits and are touted as the ultimate center section for high horsepower applications. These kits come with pinion bearing races, pinion depth shims, and other upgraded parts.

You can see all the different Aluminum Center Sections Strange Engineering offers right here on the company’s website.
