Team Penske Appealing Penalty To Ryan Blaney’s Pit Crew

Key Bass Pro Shops Night Race Crew Chief Calls

Team Penske has appealed the penalty issued to Ryan Blaney‘s crew chief and two crew members for a lost wheel at Bristol Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series race last weekend, FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass reported.

As a result, crew chief Jonathan Hassler, jackman Graham Stoddard and rear tire changer Zachary Price will remain with the team this week at Texas Motor Speedway at the start of the Round of 12.

The three crew members were suspended four races after a wheel came off on pit road.

Blaney finished 30th last Saturday (Sept. 17).

Blaney, who’s currently in his seventh full-time season and fifth with Penske, sits eighth in points coming into Texas. He’s earned eight top fives and 13 top 10s so far this year.

Overall, Blaney has earned seven wins, 57 top fives and 109 top-10 finishes in his Cup career.
