Turn Your 5.3 LS Into A Beast With Brodix's BR 3 Heads

OEM cylinder heads are rarely designed to be high-performance beasts. Now, with a little bit of work, the cylinder heads off of a passenger car or truck can flow some serious air. Brodix has taken GM’s 5.3-liter LS engine cylinder head to a new level with its enhanced bare castings that will help any 5.3 breathe better.

So why would a company like Brodix go after the LS aftermarket with a cylinder head that shared its DNA with an OEM unit? According to Mark Fretz, Brodix saw an easy opportunity to create a cylinder head that many of its customers could use.

“This cylinder head was developed because it was a market we needed to address. There were plenty of customers requesting a durable cylinder head for the 5.3 engine that could be used with any high-horsepower application. This is a replacement head that can work with OEM-style valvetrain parts. The head flows great straight out of the box and can be additionally modified for more flow. You can use this cylinder head on a naturally aspirated engine, or one with a power adder.”

The Brodix 5.3-liter LS cylinder heads feature a 3.800” bore chamber and 61cc combustion chambers for each cylinder. You can outfit the cylinder heads with OEM-sized 2.020 intake and 1.550” exhaust valves. The heads maintain the OEM 13-degree valve angle and have a 245cc intake port. Brodix designed these cylinder heads to use OEM-style valvetrain parts to make it easier to complete them.

If you’re looking for an upgraded set of heads for your 5.3-liter LS the BR 5.3 cylinder heads are for you. You can learn more about these heads right here on the Brodix website.
