Adrenaline levels raised on Tuesday when the newest addition to the grid, the Scuderia Ferrari SF-23 contender, made a triumphal physical entrance on its striking, brand-new matte-glossy red shade for a shakedown at Fiorano with Charles Leclerc at the wheel.
On Valentine’s day, it was love at first sight for the 500 Tifosi present in a grandstand in Fiorano as to those fans around the globe who have been waiting for the team from Maranello to pull off the covers of its new challenger ahead of the start of a new season of the FIA Formula One world championship.
Scuderia Ferrari’s 69th car became on February 14th, the first to be revealed and taken to the track on launch day since 2017.

Across 15 minutes, both drivers, first Charles Leclerc and then Carlos Sainz Jr., got behind the wheel of the SF-23 for the inaugural laps ahead of winter testing.
New Tem Principal Frederic Vasseur commented: “Over the past five weeks, I have had the chance to get to know many members of our team. We have a great group of people here, and it is clear that motivation is high throughout the team.”
“Today, we launch our 2023 contender with our partners and Tifosi, and I am very pleased with how the car looks. I love the red color and the “Effe Lunga” (long F) that spans across the rear wing, reminding us of our heritage.”
Adding: “Our focus will soon shift to another aspect, which is its speed and performance. We have two talented drivers who are both eager to win and have the skills needed to achieve this.”
The experienced Frenchman who departed Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake to join Ferrari in January, replacing Mattia Binotto, is up to the challenge, raising the bar to reach a much-awaited result, becoming world champions again.
“Our objective is to win the championship, which will not be an easy task as our competitors will have exactly the same target in mind. We have to bring the right mindset with us and always work on being better tomorrow than we are today.
The Italian outfit won the driver’s championship for the last time in 2007 at the hands of Kimi Raikkonen, now retired from Formula One.
Ferrari’s last constructor’s championship would come a year later; ever since, the squad has failed to achieve the top of the standings, falling short to Oracle Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, its biggest rivals in the series.
