D.L. Wilson has been hospitalized following his crash in the ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix Raceway on Friday (March 10).

“ARCA Menards Series driver D.L. Wilson was transported to a local medical center for further evaluation following an accident in Friday night’s race at Phoenix Raceway,” the series announced in a statement.

A Fast Track Racing team spokesman told Frontstretch that Wilson is still in the hospital, but hopeful to be released soon.

Wilson sustained some injuries in the crash. He has three broken ribs, a concussion and a sternum injury.

“D.L. had a tough race weekend, but he’s a retired Texas lawman, and they don’t come much tougher than that,” the spokesman said. “We expect D.L. to be back in a Fast Track racecar soon.”

Team owner Andy Hillenburg requests fans cheer Wilson up by sending him fan mail to the team race shop. The team address is 5540 Morehead Rd., Harrisburg, N.C., 28075.

Due to the DNF, Wilson wound up 24th.

Wilson is slated to compete full time in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2023 for Fast Track. The East season begins at Five Flags Speedway on Saturday, March 25.

Overall, the 58-year-old has 39 career starts in the ARCA platform with one top 10, a 10th-place finish in the 2021 race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
