The company, led by Alcide Basso, has been making bikes in Vicenza, Italy, since 1977 and is still a family-run business. Racing is in the blood, with one of three brothers, Marino Basso, having won stage races at the major cycling Grand Tours and being the 1972 Road Race World Champion.
Ride, Perfected is the motto that identifies the mission of Basso Bikes: creating the best riding experience for passionate cyclists. It is a philosophy that produces bikes with much in common with our cars: their carbon fibre components are made in-house, with lightweight and aerodynamics as the key drivers of performance, just like on a Formula 1 car. Basso, nowadays, offers a wide range of bikes: not only road racing but also gravel and e-bikes. Basso will supply our drivers, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, with racing bikes for their fitness training programme. At the same time, team personnel will be provided with road and gravel e-bikes at the European races on the calendar. The bikes boast an eye-catching livery that takes its cues from the look of the AT04.
Fabian Wrabetz, Marketing and Communications Director of Scuderia AlphaTauri, said:
Basso is a symbol of Italian authenticity. Performance, strength, and elegance are the unmistakable hallmarks of Basso bikes, making each one a precious “Made in Italy” product. That is why Basso is the perfect partner for Scuderia AlphaTauri. We are delighted to welcome Basso to the team, with both our marques representing Italian heritage in the Formula One paddock.
Leonardo Basso, Basso Bikes Marketing Manager, commented:

Scuderia AlphaTauri boasts a prestigious history. It is no coincidence that some of the stars of Formula 1 – including Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo, and Carlos Sainz – have seen their talent blossom right here. What pleasantly surprised me was discovering the enthusiasm and curiosity towards our bikes from the AlphaTauri team. The two worlds are much closer than they seem, sharing a cultural background of Italian spirit, authenticity, vision, and talent. This is the first time that Basso has entered into a partnership with an…
