FRS Announces Kyle Weatherman as Driver for Richmond Debut

NASCAR Xfinity Series

Welcome back to the Xfinity Series, Collin Fern. The former technical director of Brandonbilt Motorsports announced Sunday (March 26) that he has found a sponsor and a driver for his brand new race team, FRS Racing to make its debut at Richmond Raceway on April 2.

Fern announced the creation of the team back in February. The sponsor for the No. 96 Chevrolet Camaro will be BrewHaha Brewing Company, a coffee company based in Delaware. This will be their first time sponsoring a car at any level of NASCAR.

The driver is a bit more familiar. Xfinity Series veteran Kyle Weatherman will be behind the wheel. Weatherman has ran well at times in place of Jesse Iwuji as of late and has driven for Our Motorsports in 2023 part time. He has three career top-10 finishes in his four-year Xfinity Series career, with an average finish of 25.4.

“I’m pumped to continue working with Kyle Weatherman! He is a wheel man and his work ethic is the strongest as any race car driver I’ve ever seen. Praying for good weather and a good run,” Fern said in a statement released on his Twitter account.

The team has a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing. Per the announcement of the team’s formation in February, it was announced that Max McLaughlin will drive the car at Watkins Glen on Aug. 19. No sponsor has yet been announced for that event.
