As momentum builds towards NASCAR’s only dirt race of 2023, dirt racing saw plenty of its regulars making noise both on and off the track.

The Cup Series regular was arguably the biggest surprise when the newly-formed High Limit Racing tour announced its inaugural class of regulars.

The mid-week sprint car tour, paying purses that exceed even those of the standard World of Outlaws program, is the brainchild of sprint car powerhouse Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson. For those interested in following the High Limits tour, the series kicks off 2023 at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas next Tuesday (April 11). The tour’s entire season will be carried on Flo Racing.

Kyle Busch

The Cup Series regular pulled double duty at Millbridge Speedway in North Carolina Wednesday night (March 29), experiencing two different nights across two classes. In the winged micro sprint class, Busch won the second heat race and finished runner-up in the feature.

The same could not be said in the track’s headline micro division. Collected in a heat-race incident that stuck him in the second B-main, Busch ended up in a battle for the final transfer spot with young Aiden Price, a driver who just so happens to assist with Brexton Busch’s own racing efforts at Millbridge. Busch ran a very clean event and in doing so missed a transfer to the A-main by one spot.

Sheldon Creed

The Xfinity Series regular again ran up front for the entirety of the wingless micro program Wednesday at Millbridge, out-dueling Cannon McIntosh to win the third heat race and finishing third in the main event. Creed, who is expected to run the majority of the races at Millbridge this season, does have a little reason to be concerned though, as Brent Crews was able to outrun him over the course of 30 laps.

Tanner Gray

The Truck Series regular saw his night at Millbridge end before it began, taking a wild tumble during hot laps for the wingless micro sprints.

Jerry Hill

The former Truck Series regular opened his 2023 season with a win, going from ninth to first to win the Delaware Super Trucks feature at Delaware International Speedway Friday night.
