Tanner Carrick will attempt his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at the Bristol Motor Speedway dirt track for On Point Motorsports, On Point announced April 3.
Carrick is piloting the No. 30 with sponsorship from CVC Concrete.
Should he qualify, the race will mark Carrick’s first start in a NASCAR national series event.
“Running the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol wasn’t something that was really on my radar, and I am really thankful and appreciative that the team at On Point Motorsports reached out,” Carrick said in a team release. “Running on dirt is something that I am really familiar with, so I am really excited for this opportunity and look forward to working with everyone associated with the team.”
The 21-year-old Californian is a former USAC rookie of the year and was the circuit’s most improved driver in 2019.
Carrick is the fourth driver to compete in On Point’s No. 30 in 2023, following Chris Hacker, Ryan Vargas and Colin Garrett. Vargas finished eighth in the truck last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
