Jake Garcia will remain in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2024, albeit for a new-to-him team.
Garcia is driving for ThorSport Racing in 2024, ThorSport announced Nov. 15.
His truck number was not announced. He piloted the No. 35 in 2023.
He comes to ThorSport from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, with whom he ran all but Daytona International Speedway in 2023 due to not yet being 18 years old at the time.
“To have the chance to race for a championship organization like ThorSport Racing is huge for me,” Garcia said in a team release. “I’m extremely excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to get the 2024 season started.”
In 2023, Garcia scored three top fives and nine top 10s, his best finish a runner-up at Phoenix Raceway in the season finale.
ThorSport has not yet announced the remainder of its 2024 driver lineup. In 2023, the team fielded trucks for series champion Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, Ty Majeski and Hailie Deegan, plus a part-time fifth truck, the No. 66, for multiple drivers. Deegan has departed the team for AM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
It’s not yet known if the No. 35 at MHR will be filled by a new driver or if the team’s addition of Daniel Dye in the No. 43 constitutes Garcia’s replacement. MHR will also field a truck once again for Christian Eckes in the No. 19.
