Experienced driver Andre Lotterer joins David Beckmann as a test and reserve driver for TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team in 2024, adding to his full Porsche commitments in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), the German manufacturer announced on Wednesday.
Andre Lotterer, an eight-time podium finisher in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, who last September called time on his single-seater racing career, has been confirmed to continue to take part in the pioneering all-electric series as a test and reserve driver to Porsche’s factory team in Season 10.
Nonetheless, the three-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner’s main priority will be the FIA Endurance World Championship (WEC) with the Porsche Penske Motorsport team; his works campaign on board the 963 challenger will see him chasing a fourth crown in Le Mans.
In his own words: “After 26 years in single-seater racing, I have decided to close this chapter of my career and concentrate on the challenge of winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship with the Porsche 963.”
“At the same time, I’m excited to continue supporting Porsche with my Formula E experience.”
His journey in Formula E began ahead of Season 4 in 2017, representing the Chinese team, Techeetah, alongside two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne.
Throughout six seasons, he helped Techeetah claim their first-ever team championship in the series (Season 5) before moving to TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team in 2019-2020, contributing with his experience to the brand’s official debut in the singular series.
In Season 9, he moved to Avalanche Andretti, finishing his electric journey with the squad.

At seven years old, Lotterer first drove a go-kart and never looked back, enjoying success in a range of motorsport championships, particularly endurance racing, becoming WEC’s inaugural champion in 2012.
Furthermore, Modlinger talked about retaining David Beckmann for Season 10: “With David, we also have a young driver that we know well. He can also support us with the skill and experience he gained with our Porsche 99X Electric.”
The 23-year-old joined the outfit in Formula E as a reserve driver, making his E-Prix debut with customer team Andretti at the doubleheader event in Jakarta, replacing his countryman at the occasion.
