Williams Racing and Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber will pull off the covers of their 2024 challengers, both on February 5, the teams announced through social media on Friday.
Williams Racing F1 and Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber – former Alfa Romeo have become the second and third outfits to announce the launch date of their respective new contenders for the 75th edition of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
By mid-December, Scuderia Ferrari became the first team to set the Prancing Horse 2024 launch date, February 13, by the hands of the unchanged driver line-up, featuring Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Following today’s announcements, Williams and Sauber will share the spotlight on February 5, kicking off the launching season.
Neither of the three outfits has disclosed further details regarding their events, other than locations in the case of the last two.
“The new Williams Racing campaign will officially begin on Monday 5, February, with a special event in New York City,” the British squad revealed in a short press release issued on Friday.
Drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant will continue their journey behind the wheel of the Grove-based outfit challenger powered by Mercedes.
Albon scored 27 of the team’s 28 points, ending seventh in the constructors’ championship.
American rookie Sargeant clinched his first point in Formula One on home soil at the United States Grand Prix, becoming the first American to score a point since Michael Andretti (1993) at the Italian Grand Prix.
Moreover, Pat Fry, who began his role early in November as Chief Technical Officer, reinforces the squad’s technical leadership with his vast expertise in the motorsport industry.
“I believe in the team’s potential and, together, we will strive for excellence on and off the track,” Fry outlined last July.
Meanwhile, the Hinwil team, rebranded as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber following the departure of their title sponsor, Alfa Romeo, will introduce their 2024 F1 car during an event in London.
Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will partner for a third consecutive season at the wheel of the KICK Sauber C44 with the 2023 FIA Formula 2 champion, Frenchman Theo Pourchaire, as the official reserve driver.
Sauber, powered by Ferrari, finished ninth in the constructors’ championship, summing up 16 points on the scoreboard.
