Following the much-awaited introduction of its new challenger, the AMR24, on the verge of the 2024 season, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team headed to Silverstone Circuit, where at the hands of drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, the new F1 car made its debut on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team pulled off the covers of its new challenger for the 2024 season, the AMR24, the first built at the new AMR Technology Campus in Silverstone.
The new contender features a refined design, highlighted by its trademark green livery.
Moreover, the car presents a significant evolution in its aerodynamic concept compared to its predecessor. The result is a lighter, more efficient challenger, embodying a design philosophy engineered to operate through an extensive range of circuits to face a record 24-race season.
Team Principal Mike Krack commented: “We are proud to debut the AMR24. It is the result of a huge effort by the whole team at our new AMR Technology Campus, and it will allow the team to take another step forward in 2024.”
“Since the last race in 2023, everyone has been hyper-focused on improvements in every area, concentrating our efforts on what really makes a difference, what really matters to be better.”
In that regard, Krack remarked: “Almost every area of the car has been refined and improved, building on our strengths and taking on board the lessons of the previous campaign. 2023 was our best season to date, and our goal this season is to score regular points, podiums, and fight for our first win in green.”
Last year, the British outfit powered by Mercedes finished fifth in the Constructors’ championship, earning 280 overall, stepping into the podium on eight occasions.
Dan Fallows, Technical Director, further elaborates on the AMR24, explaining: “I would call the AMR24 a strong evolution of last year’s car, and it does look quite different with many new parts to give us a strong platform for development.”
“The chassis design is new, as well as the nose, front wing, front suspension, and rear suspension. We want to compete in the development race this season, and this car is designed to do just that.”
As the team outlined, the front suspension has changed to boost performance hand in hand with the front wing and floor.
Meanwhile, the rear suspension has also improved to maximize airflow efficiency around the rear wing, accommodating Mercedes’ latest power unit and gearbox.
