Jack Hawksworth, reigning IMSA GTD pro champion, will aatempt his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut by driving for TRICON Garage at Circuit of the Americas, the team announced March 4.

Hawksworth will drive the No. 1, the organization’s rotating seat for the 2024 season.

“I’m super stoked to be joining TRICON Garage and piloting the No. 1 Mobil 1 Toyota Tundra at COTA,” Hawksworth said in a team release. “The truck looks awesome. I’m looking forward to stepping back into the NASCAR world, working with the team leading up to the race weekend and then going out there and getting after it.

“COTA is a fun, technical track and one that should be challenging to tame a stock car at. A big thank you to everyone at TRD, Lexus, Mobil 1 and TRICON for making this possible. I can’t wait to get started!”

Mobil 1 will serve as primary sponsor for Hawksworth.

Should he qualify, it will be Hawksworth’s second NASCAR national series start. He drove the No. 18 for Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in 2019, finishing 15th.

The No. 1 has been driven by Toni Breidinger, Colby Howard and Christopher Bell so far in 2024. William Sawalich will also pilot the truck this season.
