Jones, 29, will run three NASCAR Xfinity races in the No. 24 Sam Hunt Racing Toyota Supra. The organization has never won an NXS race, but have scored seven top-fives with four different drivers since 2021.
His first start will come at the Circuit of the Americas later this month. He will also compete at Portland International Raceway and Sonoma Raceway.
Jones has 63 starts as an IndyCar driver, including three podiums. He finished third in the 2017 Indianapolis 500 as a rookie, and won the 2016 Indy Lights (now Indy NXT) championship.
The Emirati-born British racing driver also has experience in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar championship, as well as the FIA World Endurance Championship. He finished third in class in the 2022 Le Mans 24, driving an LMP2. His extensive resume also includes the 2013 European F3 title.
However, his NASCAR experience is very limited. Jones has never run a NASCAR Xfinity race before, and ran one Truck race last year. Driving for Young’s Motorsports, he finished last at COTA due to a suspension failure on the very first lap of the race.
