Bob Tasca Run DQ'd Due To Intake Manifold Issue

Bob Tasca III picked up a big win at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals with an incredible triple holeshot, but things aren’t as rosy at the Charlotte NHRA 4-Wide Nationals. Tasca’s 3.849 pass from round two of qualifying on Friday night was thrown out due to an intake manifold the NHRA Tech Department deemed illegal.

Here is the official statement from the NHRA:

According to Tasca, he moved from a John Force Racing intake manifold to one from Alan Johnson Performance Engineering (AJPE). The NHRA rules state that the manifolds cannot be modified, no matter if the modification impacts performance. Where this became a problem for Tasca was the color of the magnesium manifold changed. Tasca stated the way Wilson flows manifolds during testing it caused the color change.

In this video from the  NHRA Inside Live show Tasca goes into more detail about the situation. We will continue to follow this story as it develops.
