Joey Logano won his third pole of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway by setting a new track record on the newly repaved track with a speed of 97.771 mph.
The two-time Cup champion earned the 31st pole of his career, his first since the third race of the season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and his second at Sonoma.
Logano was faster than 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick, who clocked in at 97.661 mph, tying his best qualifying result at Sonoma set last season.
Reigning Cup champion Ryan Blaney, Logano’s Team Penske teammate, qualified third. Blaney was also the quickest in yesterday’s extended practice session.
Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott was the fastest Chevrolet and will start on the outside front row with Blaney. Kyle Larson grazed the tire barrier out of turn 4 a in his first lap in the final round but was able to complete a second lap that was good enough for fifth.
William Byron, Daniel Suarez, Alex Bowman, Ross Chastain and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top 10.
The green flag for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 from Sonoma will wave tomorrow, June 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Broadcasting will be provided by FOX.
