New York’s Revived Skyview Drags Listed For Sale

Just months after its long-awaited revival, New York’s Skyview Drags is on the market.

Real estate brokerage United Country Tom Mullen & Associates has listed the 389 acre, multi-purpose raceway for $3.5 million. The parcel is composed of 230 acres of woodland and 159 acres of open or semi-open land that is developed or can be developed. On that developed portion sits the 1/8-mile, WDRA-sanctioned dragstrip that was built in 2004, along with a NASCAR-sanctioned 1/2-mile concrete oval. A through-the-woods dirt bike racing course is also under construction as of the listing.

Skyview, located in Owego, New York, a short drive from the New York/Pennsylvania border, opened in 2004 and operated until 2018. It then closed and its owner original owner passed away. In 2023, it was acquired by a local businessperson, with little knowledge of the sport but intrigued in the potential of a racetrack in the region — one that has received considerable support during its years of operation. Some 50 volunteers invested their time, along with the owner’s financial resources, to bring the facility back to life after nearly six years of weathering and overgrowth.

The dragstrip’s tower-control has been renovated, the restrooms were rebuilt, new timing equipment and audio systems installed, and the concession stand, spectator bleachers, track lighting, and parking were all upgraded.

Once complete, the track sought and secured WDRA sanctioning, and continues to enjoy strong racer support.

For anyone looking to make a dream a reality, the facility is certainly well-equipped: there’s 28,600 total square feet of indoor building space, including a 3-bed, 2-bath owner’s house, an unfinished tavern/restaurant, the 4,200-square-foot timing tower, and 17 other various structures.
