Logan Sargeant Out at Williams, Franco Colapinto To Drive Rest of 2024

Logan Sargeant (No. 2) drives the Williams FW45 through the pit lane at the Sakhir International Circuit during 2023 Formula 1 preseason testing.

Franco Colapinto will finish out the rest of the 2024 Formula 1 season for Williams Racing, replacing Logan Sargeant in the No. 43, the team announced Aug. 27.

Colapinto will start competing this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.

Part of the team’s Driver Academy, Colapinto practiced for Williams at the British Grand Prix. He has one win this season in Formula 2 at Imola.

“It is an honour to be making my Formula 1 debut with Williams – this is what dreams are made of,” Colapinto said in a team release.

“The team has such amazing history and a mission to get back to the front which I can’t wait to be part of.

“Coming into F1 mid-season will be an enormous learning curve but I am up for the challenge, and I’m fully focused on working as hard as I can with Alex and the team to make it a success.”

There are nine races remaining in the 2024 F1 season.
