Starting from the 2025 season, this collaboration will bring cutting-edge, low-carbon energy generation systems to all European Grands Prix, reinforcing Formula 1’s commitment to sustainability. As part of this transformative deal, Aggreko will become an Official Provider of F1, underscoring the sport’s dedication to reducing its environmental impact.

The partnership between Aggreko and Formula 1 is built on a foundation of successful collaboration that began in 2023 when they first piloted a centralised power generation compound at the Austrian Grand Prix. This innovative system, which harnesses renewable energy sources such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), biofuel, solar panels, and battery storage, resulted in a remarkable reduction of over 90% in carbon emissions within the Paddock, Pit Lane, and broadcast areas compared to the 2022 event. Its unique features, including the use of renewable energy sources and its significant carbon reduction, make it a game-changer in the field of sustainable energy solutions.
The system’s initial success at the Red Bull Ring spurred further trials at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2024, and it has since been implemented at other key events, including this weekend’s Grand Prix in Monza. The results have been consistently impressive, demonstrating the system’s capability to deliver substantial carbon reductions. As a result, from 2025 onwards, this centralised power generation system will be deployed across all European Grand Prix events, marking a significant milestone in Formula 1’s sustainability strategy and underlining the profound impact of the partnership on the sport’s environmental efforts.
This expansion to all European races will profoundly impact how energy is managed at these events.
