William Sawalich Wins Pole for ARCA at DuQuoin

William Sawalich has won his seventh straight pole for Sunday’s (Sept. 1) ARCA Menards Series race at the DuQuioin State Fairgrounds. 

Sawalich’s lap of 35.432 seconds was five-hundredths of a second faster than the second-place qualifier. The 17-year-old will look to win his fifth straight race tonight. 

Starting second is Brent Crews, who is a former dirt winner, taking the checkered flag at Springfield in 2023.

Kelly Kovski will roll off the grid in third, starting his second race of the season. He’ll share row two with current points leader Andres Perez, who starts fourth.

Kris Wright starts fifth, rounding out the top five starters. Lavar Scott will start sixth, sharing row three with Wright. 

The remainder of the top 10 starts include Will Kimmel, Taylor Reimer, Amber Balcaen, and Sean Corr.

22 of the 23 cars entered in this evening’s race took time in qualifying, with the lone exception being Alex Clubb

ARCA DuQuoin Starting Lineup

The green flag for this evening’s Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin will fly shortly after 8:45 p.m. ET. FOX Sports 1 will carry the live broadcast of the race, and it can also be watched on FloRacing with a subscription to the service.
