23XI Racing, Front Row Don’t Sign 2025-2031 Charter Agreement

Nascar Cup Series

NASCAR Cup Series team 23XI Racing announced Saturday (Sept. 7) that it chose not to agree to the terms of the charter agreement after allowing NASCAR’s imposed deadline to pass.

Multiple reports also said that Front Row Motorsports also has not signed the agreement.

“23XI decided not to meet a NASCAR-imposed deadline last night to sign Charter agreements for its two cars for 2025-2031,” the statement from 23XI ownership read. “23XI’s position, as stated in a letter to NASCAR, is that we did not have an opportunity to fairly bargain for a new Charter contract.”

23XI has raced in NASCAR since 2021, when Bubba Wallace joined to pilot the No. 23 Toyota Camry. The team is co-owned by Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin and former NBA Player Michael Jordan.

23XI fielded two chartered entries in the Cup Series in 2024, the No. 23 of Wallace and the No. 45 of Tyler Reddick, and the team has run a third entry at select races over the past two seasons.

Reddick won the 2024 regular season championship by one point over Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson in last week’s Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway while Wallace missed the playoffs.
