Bartone Bros. Racing announced Tuesday that they will make their first-ever run in the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2025. They are continuing an existing partnership with GetSpeed to run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GTD Pro class that will run the No. 69.
The team is the 58th announced entry that will compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025. They join the 56 teams announced at the IMSA State of the Sport presentation at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta back on Oct. 10, plus Magnus Racing, who previously announced their plans to only run Daytona next year.
The only driver confirmed to be in the No. 69 at this point is Anthony Bartone. Bartone comes from the world of drag racing, where he competed in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series’ Top Alcohol division. His family still runs a successful team there.
“I’ve dreamed of racing at Daytona since I was young,” Bartone said in a press release. “It is something me and my father [Tony] did every year is watch the Rolex 24. It is a full-circle moment for me and my father. It is a huge privilege to be able to drive with Getspeed in their first Rolex 24.”
In 2022, Bartone made the switch to GT racing, committing to a part-time schedule in Pirelli GT4 America SprintX and GT America powered by AWS. In GT America, Bartone drove solo. In the four GT4 America races, he shared a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport with veteran racer Andy Pilgrim, who serves as a mentor.
For 2023, Bartone Bros. Racing partnered with RealTime Racing to field a Mercedes-AMG GT3 (pictured above) in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS for Bartone and Pilgrim in the Am class, where they were the only entry.
After three race weekends, Pilgrim stepped out of the car in favor of Adam Christodoulou. When that move happened, Bartone was moved into the Pro-Am class. Bartone’s best finish in Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS was a sixth overall and third in Pro-Am with Christodoulou in Race No. 2 at Road America.
Bartone also continued to race in GT America, also with the Mercedes-AMG GT3. There, he won Race No. 2 at Sonoma Raceway, but missed the rounds at Nashville and Indianapolis. As a result, he finished tied for fifth in SRO3 points.
