Guess who’s back in the game? Top Fuel fan favorite Scott Palmer. He’s revving to go and will finish the NHRA season’s final two races with extra horsepower – literally and figuratively. It all started with a chance meeting with fellow racer Rodger Brogdon, who decided to lend a hand (and some sponsorship dollars) through his company, RoofTec. Here’s where the Scott Palmer and RoofTec partnership began.

You see, Scott was feeling a bit down after narrowly missing the cut at the Texas NHRA FallNationals. He had a great car, but sometimes the luck of the draw is not with you. He was packing up at the Texas Motorplex when he bumped into Rodger. As it turned out, these two had much in common: fast cars and a big heart for helping others.

“We actually met a few years back,” Scott remembers. “It was in Houston, and I went over to apologize for the loud music blasting from our pit. We just clicked!”

Rodger, a well-known and respected guy in the drag racing world, was immediately impressed by Scott’s grit and determination. “Scott’s the kind of guy who gives it everything he’s got to live out his dream,” Rodger said. “He doesn’t have the biggest budget, but he never gives up. That’s something I really admire.”

And the feeling is mutual! Scott has a ton of respect for Rodger, too. “Rodger is one of the most genuine guys I know,” Scott shared. “He’s worked hard to get where he is, and he’s always willing to help others.”

Bouncing Back from a Tough Break

Last year wasn’t easy for Scott. He had a pretty nasty crash that put him on the sidelines for a while. “That crash really set me back,” Scott admitted. “I missed some races and had to work hard to get back in the swing of things.”

But now, the Scott Palmer and RoofTec partnership, joined with the forces of Scott’s main sponsor, the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR), he’s got the support he needs to finish the season strong. You’ll see both RoofTec and PBR proudly displayed on his dragster as he races in Las Vegas and Pomona.

More Than Just Racing

Scott and Rodger’s connection goes beyond just racing. They both have a strong passion for giving back, especially to the Drag Racing Association of Women (DRAW). This awesome organization helps racers who have been injured, and both Scott and Rodger have been big supporters.

Looking ahead, Scott dreams of driving a Comp car like Rodger’s someday. And guess what? He wants…
