Christian Eckes captured his third pole of the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season at Martinsville Speedway on Friday (Nov. 1) with a lap of 96.83 mph. Eckes will begin Martinsville with a 38-point cushion as he looks to clinch a berth into the Championship 4 for the first time in his career.
Eckes will be lined up beside ThorSport Racing driver Ty Majeski, who currently sits 22 points ahead of Rajah Caruth for the last playoff spot. Row two consists of two playoff drivers below the cut line with Taylor Gray in third and Nick Sanchez in fourth. Gray sits 24 points below Majeski and Sanchez sits 43 points below in what is likely a must-win situation. Layne Riggs completes the top five in fifth.
Ben Rhodes, Corey Heim, Chase Purdy, Kaden Honeycutt and Jack Wood finish sixth through 10th, respectively.
Playoff driver Caruth qualified just outside the top 10 in 11th. Caruth will look to make his first Championship 4 on Friday night along with Tyler Ankrum, who qualified 23rd. Ankrum sits 41 points below the cut line and is in a must-win situation.
Grant Enfinger was the slowest of the playoff drivers, qualifying 33rd. Enfinger clinched his spot in the Championship 4 by winning the previous two races in the Round of 8.
Justin Carroll was the only driver who did not make a lap and will start at the rear of the field in 36th.
With 36 trucks on the entry list, all drivers will race Friday night at Martinsville.
The final race of the Round of 8 for the Truck Series season kicks off Friday (Nov. 1) at 6 p.m. ET at Martinsville on FOX Sports 1.
