Tower Motorsport revealed their full driver lineup Wednesday morning (Nov. 6) for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. John Farano, owner of Tower Events, will continue to drive full-time in the LMP2 class.
For the full LMP2 season, Farano will be joined by Sebastien Bourdais. Bourdais will replace Charlie Eastwood in the role.
“I am really happy to be joining Tower Motorsports,” Bourdais said in a press release. “t’s a proven team with a history of success, and I am thrilled to continue racing in America in such a high-level program. I’ve never had the pleasure of driving the LMP2 with higher downforce and Michelin tires, so it’s going to be an interesting experience. I’m really looking forward to racing this season with John, Sebastian, and Job. We’re going to have a ton of fun and achieve a great amount of success.”
Bourdais comes to Tower Motorsport after driving for Chip Ganassi Racing for the past three years. In that time, Bourdais and Renger van der Zande won six races and finished third in points twice (2022 in DPi, this year in GTP). He became a free agent as a result of the Ganassi team leaving IMSA after the conclusion of the 2024 season. Van der Zande has already found a new home for 2025 with Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian.
Sebastian Alvarez (pictured above at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta), who debuted with the team in the season finale, will continue with the team in the endurance role. He’ll drive in five races next year.
Alvarez spent 2024 racing for Inter Europol Competition in the European Le Mans Series. Teamed with WeatherTech LMP2 champion Tom Dillmann and Vladislav Lomko, he finished second in LMP2 points with a victory at Paul Ricard and podium finishes at Spa and Imola.
Finally, Job van Uitert will drive the No. 8 in Daytona. Van Uitert has three career starts in WeatherTech. The first of those came with Tower Motorsport when it was still run by Starworks Motorsports in 2020. Van Uitert, along with Farano and Mikkel Jensen, won the LMP2 class in the Motul Petit Le Mans.
Van Uitert ran full-time in the ELMS with IDEC Sport this season with Reshad de Gerus. The duo finished sixth in points with a season-best finish of third at Spa. He also finished third in LMP2 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with de Gerus and Paul Lafargue.
For Farano, Tower Motorsport is loaded for 2025 and ready to go.
