Zhou Guanyu and Sauber Motorsport will part at the end of the 2024 season, marking the close of a remarkable three-year chapter with the Swiss team. Zhou, who joined Sauber in 2022, made an immediate impact with his debut at the Bahrain Grand Prix, scoring points and helping the team achieve its best Constructors’ Championship finish in a decade — P6. This success solidified Zhou’s role as a key driver for Sauber, becoming one of the most recognizable figures in F1 as he established himself within the Stake F1 Team alongside teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Zhou’s tenure with Sauber has been defined by growth and a strong partnership with Bottas. The Shanghai-born driver transitioned from a rookie to a dependable and exciting driver, consistently delivering thrilling performances. One of the highlights of his journey was the emotional Chinese Grand Prix in 2024, his first home race, where he received a standing ovation from thousands of fans.
