Air Flow Research (AFR) swooped into the 2024 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show with several new products. The new products applied to Mopar, small-block Chevy, and big-block Chevy engines, and they promise massive performance gains.
First up, is a brand-new cylinder head designed for Mopar LA-series engines. This cast aluminum head features a three-angle valve job for improved airflow out of the box. AFR plans to release a CNC-ported version in the coming weeks, offering even greater performance potential. The first batch of 100 sets will begin shipping in December 2024.
The popular Enforcer line of small-block Chevy heads has also received a huge update. By incorporating design elements from their CNC-ported heads, AFR has increased airflow by 5 to 8 percent over the previous generation. These heads retain their 2.02-inch intake valves and existing valvetrain components, making them compatible with both hydraulic roller and flat tappet camshafts. Like the Mopar head, the Enforcer utilizes a permanent mold casting process for enhanced quality and consistency. AFR expects to ship 200 sets of these updated heads in December 2024.
For owners of GM Gen 3 engines, such as the 5.7-liter and 6.1-liter, AFR has developed the Street Hawk heads. These heads are fully CNC-ported and boast a competition-level five-angle valve job. Bolting on a set of Street Hawks can yield an impressive 65 horsepower increase over stock heads. With the right camshaft, AFR suggests that enthusiasts can gain an additional 25 horsepower. Finally, just in time to complement the company’s existing 24-degree big-block Chevy heads, AFR is offering a new, rectangular port, dual plane intake manifold.
Designed for street applications, this intake is ideal for trucks and cars that need a significant performance upgrade. All ports are matched to AFR’s 24-degree heads, so airflow is guaranteed to be optimal. The intake is in stock and ready to ship at the time this story was published.
These new additions complement AFR’s vast lineup of products and will be undoubtedly be welcomed by those wanting more power from their car or truck.
