Haltech has introduced the new Ti4L GM 4L Series Transmission Controller Kit that is a tailor-made for LS swaps. Haltech’s Andrew Dimartino shared the story behind the product. He explained how while the Rebel LS kit is a great, turnkey solution to drop LS engines into various vehicles, most builders still want the option to use an automatic transmission, like the popular 4L60E and 4L80E.
Here’s where it gets tricky: These electronic transmissions need more than just a physical installation to work properly. Unlike older transmissions that operate without complex electronics, modern versions require a controller with smart logic to manage their function. The team at Haltech recognized this gap and created the GM 4L Series Transmission Controller Kit.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with Haltech’s Rebel LS ECU, the Haltech Ti4L Transmission Controller Kit takes the hassle out of setting up 4L Series electronic automatic transmissions. It comes with everything you need — a controller, harness, 500 psi sensor, and all the necessary hardware. Plus, the kit is built with long-term learning capability that adapts over time, ensuring consistent, reliable performance for the long haul.
The Haltech Ti4L Transmission Controller Kit supports 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E (non-4×4 2006-2008 only), 4L80E, and 4L85E (non-4×4 1994-and-up only) transmissions.
