NHRA Releases 2025 Lucas Oil Series Schedules

The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series has unveiled its 2025 schedule, spotlighting the top sportsman drag racers and many of the premier NHRA-sanctioned racing venues across the nation.

The season opens Feb. 20-23 at Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix and Feb. 21-22 at Orlando Speed World Dragway. With 45 divisional and 21 regional events, the schedule includes 69 events in all, culminating at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 6-9. The expanded season includes 15 double divisional events and two SPORTSnationals, increasing racer opportunities and travel efficiencies.

Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car classes will appear at three specialty events: Cleetus and Cars at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park (May 2-3), Night Under Fire at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio (Aug. 1-2), and the Firebird Fall Shootout in Phoenix (Oct. 24-25). Summit Motorsports Park joins the list of doubleheader divisional hosts for the first time, and World Wide Technology Raceway in St. Louis will hold dual divisional events in April and October, marking key stops for the West Central and North Central divisions.

In an effort to simplify logistics for racers, double divisional events in Gainesville, Brainerd, Norwalk, St. Louis, Dallas, and Las Vegas align with adjacent national events, maximizing travel efficiency for competitors seeking more bang for their proverbial travel buck. Returning events include the Laris Motorsports Insurance Cajun NHRA SPORTSnationals at No Problem Raceway, La., on March 14-16, and the JEGS SPORTSnationals at National Trail Raceway on July 9-10, with divisional and regional races following on July 11-12.

The 21 regional events will feature Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car categories.

Lucas Oil’s ongoing support remains central to the NHRA’s sportsman success, as NHRA President Glen Cromwell notes.

“We are looking forward to another fantastic season of racing in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of the tremendous support Lucas Oil and the Lucas family have provided for so many years,” says Cromwell. “They’ve played an instrumental role in the success of our sportsman series, which continues to thrive at NHRA Member Tracks across the country. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series features incredible racing from some of the best drivers in the world and we’re excited about what the 2025 season has in store.”
