Former Street Outlaws Star John Odom Faces Mounting Legal Issues

Forner Street Outlaws star John Odom’s legal troubles continue to grow. Odom has been noticeably absent from the No Prep Kings tour, and drag racing in general during the 2024 season. Currently, Odom is incarcerated in the Ada County jail in Idaho and is named in a lawsuit in Las Vegas over the death of a guest at a party he hosted.

In 2023, Odom hosted a Halloween party at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Nevada to celebrate a sponsorship for the screw-blown GTR he raced. According to police reports, Dan Rodimer, a former Republican congressional candidate and professional wrestler was involved in an assault on Christopher Tapp. Tapp died during the fight, and his mother, Vera Tapp, filed a lawsuit against Oden and several others.

In the suit, it’s alleged that Oden ordered people at the party not to alert hotel security or the police about the fight, before he left. Eventually, medical personnel arrived and took Tapp to the hospital, where he later died. Tapp’s death was ruled a homicide by the Clark County Corner due to brain bleeds that were the result of blunt trauma to the head.

Odom has also had several judgments levied against him for business dealings and failure to pay racing vendors for parts. It’s also alleged that Odem owes several racers for side bets made at events. Currently, Odom is serving time in the Ada County jail for Contempt of Court-Civil/Criminal Sanction (Out of Court) with no option for bail.
