An iconic landmark in the drag racing world — the historic Milan Dragway — is now on the market. Only 45 minutes away from Detroit, this  drag strip has been a hub for racing fans since it opened its gates back in 1964. It has hosted countless events, cultivated a network of enthusiasts, and forged lifetime memories for racers and fans over the decades.

The current owners, who purchased the track in 2021, stepped in during a time of uncertainty. They revitalized the facility, which was non-operational for several years, and brought it up to date, turning it into a hotbed of modern, vibrant motorsport. For the past two-and-a-half years, they have invested time and finances into making Milan Dragway the best it’s ever been. Such efforts include repaving the track with fresh asphalt and concrete, replacing restrooms, overhauling high traffic areas such as the pro shop, clubhouse, performance center, and concession buildings.

And the updates did not end there. A new P.A. system provides crisp announcements, upgraded lighting brightens the grounds for events after dark, and refurbished landscaping greets visitors with a welcoming atmosphere. Behind the scenes, significant investments in equipment have strengthened both the operations of the tracks and the maintenance of the grounds. It’s clear the owners had incredible pride in every detail.

The track’s event schedule reflects that dedication, with more than 100 race days each year offering something for everyone. The turnout has been exceptional, with strong car counts and spectators filling the stands to cheer on the action.

“Operating a drag strip can be quite rewarding,” shared CEO Perry Merlo. “We see how important the Milan Dragway is to so many racers and families throughout the country, and in our state.” He also noted the team’s focus on building a strong financial foundation and restoring trust with the nearby community.

Co-owner Harold Bullock added, “The Milan facility is situated in a market that also allows for potential activities outside of drag racing, including mud bog, motocross, and more.”

The historic Milan Dragway is more than a racing venue, it is a place where traditions are kept, friendships are made and the thrills of speed and competition are never more than a heartbeat away. For people who love motorsport, this isn’t just a business opportunity, it’s about keeping a legacy alive that has meant so much to so many people.
