Gio Ruggiero will run full time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025 for TRICON Garage, TRICON announced Dec. 2.

Ruggiero will pilot the No. 17, which is being vacated by Taylor Gray as he moves up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Ruggiero’s start at Daytona International Speedway to open the 2025 season will mark his series debut.

“I am super thankful to have the opportunity to run full time with TRICON in 2025,” Ruggiero said in a team release. “I look forward to getting to work with all of the guys on the [No.] 17 team and contending for wins this season.”

“Gio has shown a lot of promise in his young career, and we are super excited to welcome him into our program,” TRICON co-owner David Gilliland added. “Jumping into the Truck Series is no small feat, but Gio has proven that he adapts quickly, and we have no doubt that he will have a successful rookie season with us as he takes over the [No.] 17 truck.”

Ruggiero scored a win, five top fives and six top 10s in a full ARCA Menards Series East campaign for Venturini Motorsports in 2024. He also earned seven top fives and seven top 10s in the ARCA Menards Series, as well as three top fives and top 10s in the ARCA Menards Series West.

Ruggiero is the fourth driver announced to the TRICON stable for 2025, following returning drivers Corey Heim and Tanner Gray, plus fellow rookie Toni Breidinger.
