Darik Bourdeau will be suspended for the next race of the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series after causing a crash under caution during the series’ second race of the season on Tuesday night, iRacing confirmed to Frontstretch on Thursday.
Bourdeau had been hit by Garrett Manes while the pair were battling for position into turn 1. While under caution Bourdeau charged back through the field to find Manes’ bumper. While weaving through traffic, Bourdeau side-swiped Vicente Salas, sending him into the outside wall.
In addition to his suspension for the Atlanta race, Bourdeau’s points that he collected for both himself and Elliott Sadler eSports will be forfeited.
After the race, Bourdeau apologized to Salas on Twitter. “[I] Want to apologize to [Vicente Salas] for involving him in my stupidity cannot say sorry enough. What I did was wrong on so many levels I should know better,” Bourdeau said.
